Day 1: Saigon Arrival On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, you are met and transferred to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh. Day 2: Saigon City tour Passing wartime American Embassy, the Reunification Palace - the former residence of the President of Southern Vietnam. Nearby are some French colonial structures: the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. Visiting History Museum and the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War Remnant Museum and bustling Ben Thanh Market . Day 3: Day tour to Cu Chi Tunnels and Tay Ninh Holy See Transfer to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. Continueing to Tay Ninh, the head quarter of Cao Dai sect. We arrive in time to visit the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic mid-day service. Afterward, visiting Ba Den Mountain which was a base for the US Army’s 25th Infantry Division. Day 4: Saigon - Bien Hoa - Long Binh - Vung Tau Transfer to Bien Hoa and Long Binh, the former USARV head quarters. Stop over in Di An and Ben Cat. Then we head towards Vung Tau beach. Enjoying swimming or seeing some places of interest, including Villa Blanche, mountaintop Jesus, Light House, Niet Ban Tinh Xa Pagoda. Day 5: Vung Tau - Xuan Loc - Saigon Departing for Vung Tau for Saigon, taking different route passing by the 11th Armored Cav’s former headquarters. Visiting Xuan Loc - the entrance of Saigon, the site of the last fierce ARVN/NVA battle in 1975 before the fall of Saigon. Day 6: Saigon - Dong Xoai Transfer to the Iron Triangle to the restored village of Ben Suc - a well known VC arms port on the Saigon river where the Col Alexander Haig landed with his 1st Division, unit to kick off Operation Cedar Falls. We travel up the highway No 13 well known as Thunder Road past Phu Cuong before arriving at Phu Loi. Here was a base for the ARVN 5th Division Headquarter, 1st US Aviation Brigade, POW Camp and the old 128th AHC airfield. Continuing to Ben Cat and Lai Khe - the 3rd Brigade Head quarters of the US 1st Infantry Division, home also to the 173rd AHC. Day 7: Dong Xoai - Saigon On the way back to Saigon, visiting Bu Dang and Bu Dop, a special forces camp in northern III Corps and continuing to War Zone D. Day 8: Departure Breakfast then at leisure till transfer to the airport for flight back home. End of the tour. |
