Day 1: Saigon Arrival
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport our guide who will accompany you to your hotel for check in. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 2: Saigon City tour
Transfer to the War Remnants museum and the Reunification Palace - the former headquarter of South Vietnam Government and some French colonial architecture such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Visiting Cho Lon (or Chinatown) and Jade Emperor Temple.
Day 3: Day tour to Cu Chi tunnels and Tay Ninh Holy See
Excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels which had played a vital part in the American war in that they allowed the Viet Cong to control a large rural area only 30 to 40 km from Saigon. From Cu Chi drive to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of the Cao Dai Sect, whose patron saints include Confusian, Buddha and Jesus Christ, Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill.
Day 4: Day tour to Mekong Delta with stop over in Dong Tam Snake Farm
Traveling to Vinh Long Province with stopover at Dong Tam snake farm - the former base of the 9th US Division and Riverine Units, visit famous Ap Bac village. On arrival at Cai Be we embark on a boat for a leisurely trip around the tributaries of the mighty Mekong River, stopping at Cai Be floating market where each boat usually sells one particular item. Day 5: Saigon - Bien Hoa - Long Binh - Xuan Loc - Saigon
Early start to Bien Hoa and Long Binh, the former USARV head quarters via Di An and Ben Cat, passing by the 11th Armored Cav’s former headquarters and Xuan Loc - the site of the last fierce ARVN/NVA battle in 1975 before entering Saigon. Day 6: Flight from Saigon to Pleiku Transfer to airport for a flight to Pleiku. Welcomed in Pleiku then drive southward highway No 14 to visit Ham Rong Pass and Camp Enari - the former headquarter of the 4th Infantry Division. Passing by Cacteka plantation, Pleime, and Ban Can - the former operational areas of the 4th Division. Day 7: Visiting Kontum and Dakto Travel by roads to Komtum passing some French barracks. This rough mountainous area was once a violent battle field between the NVA units and the 4th Division along the Ho Chi Minh and Sihanouk trails. Exploring around Dakto including the former airbase and the Chalie hill. Visit the old wooden church. Day 8: Pleiku - An Khe - Quy Nhon A visit to Camp Halloway and some nearby Jarai villages. Departing for Quy Nhon Town, which was a supply depot of the first Log Command. We cross over the Mang Yang Pass before arriving at An Khe, a major military area where we could find the First Air Cavalry. Day 9: Quy Nhon - Quang Ngai - Son My - Hoi An Ancient town An early start to pass by Phu Cat Airbase which is now managed by Vietnamese Army. Passing Tra Bon River valley, Bong Son, Mo Duc, Phuoc Loc and Duc Pho. Seeing the rugged Animate Mountains, referred to as "The Street without joy" by French soldiers. Stop over at Son My District, visiting My Lai village remebering the infamous My Lai incident before continuing to Chu Lai airbase. Have a chance to see the work of the Sky hawks here. Day 10: Hoi An - Hue Together with the tour guide visiting the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tam Ky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the vibrant market. In the afternoon, driving north to Hue, stopping en route to visit the Marble Mountains and the China Beach, which was the former R&R ground for the US Marines. Enjoying the spectacular Hai Van Pass. Passing by Camp Eagle before arriving in Hue. Overnight in Hue. Day 11: Hue - DMZ - Khe Sanh - Hue Heading northward passing by Camp Evans and Fire Support Base Nancy. Stop in Ai Tu Combat Base and Airfield before arriving in Dong Ha, which is well known as Leatherneck Square bounded by Con Thien, Gio Linh, and Cam Lo. Continuing across the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River which devided North and South Vietnam. Visit the Doc Mieu Base in the DMZ and the infamous Vinh Moc Tunnels. Traveling up the route No 9 to Khe Sanh and pass Rockpile, Camp Carol and Da Krong Bridge. Overnight in Hue. Day 12: Flight from Hue to Hanoi Starting a visit to the Imperial Citadel with Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa palace and The Mieu Temple. Boarding a short flight to Hanoi. After checking into hotel we visit the beautiful lake of Hoan Kiem with its sacred temple and the vibrant Dong Xuan Market. Enjoying short cyclo excursion through the bustling Hanoi old streets and enjoying a Water Puppet Show. Day 13: Hanoi City Tour + Tour to Halong bay. Half day city tour to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and His House on Stilt, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature - well known as Vietnam’s first college, and the History Museum which displays the Vietnamese history well. Departing for Halong Bay through the scenic countryside. Overnight in Halong. Day 14: Halong - Hanoi Embarking on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay and an having an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes. Return to the Wharf and transfer back to Hanoi.
Day 15: Departure
At leisure till transfer to the airport for the departure flight. End of the tour. |
