Nguyen Thanh Dong won first place at the international windsurfer contest held last week at the Full Moon Resort in Binh Thuan Province’s Phan Thiet Town. Thirty-eight competitors from 15 countries, including Australia, Bulgaria, France, Israel, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK, competed. Proceeds from the contest, which ended last Saturday, will be donated to a charity in Binh Thuan. Full Moon Resort introduced surfing to Viet Nam for the first time in 2001. The resort offers training courses year-round, teaching basic techniques for both board and kite surfing. This is the ninth year the competition has been organised. Sixty-four surfers from 13 countries participated in last year’s tournament at Ham Tien Beach. Source: Vietnamnews |
