Kratie
This charming riverside town is taking off as a strategic stop on the overland route to Laos or Ratanakiri. Kratie’s French and Khmer architecture is well preserved, as it was spared war-time bombing and was liberated by the Khmer Rouge early in the civil war.

| Wat Nokor
Is an 11th century Mahayano Buddhist shrine of sandstone and literate set sank-bang in the centre of an active Theravada wat. It is a kitsch place, a temple within a temple with many of the older building’s features incorporated into the new building as shrines for worship.
